Hope of Life International Church ("Hope of Life," "we," "our," or "us") provides the Hope of Life International app to help people sign in, manage basic account information, and give to the church.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

• Account information, such as name, email address, password credentials, and sign-in provider information.
• Profile information, such as display name, date of birth, gender, and profile photo (provided by you or your sign-in provider).
• Donor information, such as legal name, mailing address, phone number, preferred contact method, receipt preferences, statement delivery preferences, and optional giving-related preferences.
• Giving information, such as gift amount, fund, frequency, dedication details, notes, receipt history, recurring gift settings, and tax statement requests.
• Limited payment details, such as card brand, last four digits, expiration month/year, Square customer or card identifiers, and payment status information.
• Communication information, such as email address, receipt delivery details, account messages, and giving-related notification preferences.

We may also collect information automatically, including:

• Device and app information, such as device identifiers, operating system, app version, language, and diagnostic data.
• Usage and analytics information, such as sign-in, sign-up, email verification, password reset, navigation, giving flow usage, and similar events.
• Crash, performance, and error data when enabled for the app environment.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create, secure, and manage your account.
• Verify email addresses, reset passwords, and support sign-in with email, Google, or Apple.
• Maintain your basic app profile.
• Process one-time and recurring gifts.
• Save and manage payment methods for recurring gifts when you choose to do so.
• Send giving receipts, failed recurring gift alerts, account messages, and year-end giving statements.
• Prepare donation history and tax-related giving records.
• Provide support and respond to questions.
• Improve app functionality, security, reliability, and user experience.
• Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, technical issues, and violations of our terms.
• Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and church administration obligations.

Payment Information

Payments are processed through Square and, when applicable, Apple Pay or Google Pay. We do not store full credit or debit card numbers in the app database. Payment card details are tokenized by Square or the applicable wallet provider.

We may store limited payment details, such as card brand, last four digits, expiration month/year, Square customer or card identifiers, and gift history, so that we can process gifts, manage recurring gifts, send receipts, and provide statements.

Your use of Square, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Google sign-in, Apple sign-in, Firebase, or other third-party services may also be governed by those providers' privacy policies.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with:

• Service providers that help us operate the app, including Firebase/Google Cloud, Square, email providers, analytics/crash reporting providers, hosting or infrastructure providers, and payment-related services.
• Church staff, administrators, finance personnel, and authorized volunteers who need access to support account help, giving administration, donor records, receipts, statements, or church operations.
• Payment processors and financial institutions when needed to process gifts, refunds, disputes, fraud checks, recurring gifts, and statements.
• Legal, accounting, tax, compliance, or safety authorities when required or appropriate.

Communications

We may send you account-related, security-related, and giving-related communications, including email verification, password reset messages, donation receipts, recurring giving notices, failed payment alerts, and giving statement notifications.

You may be able to manage some communication preferences in the app. Some administrative, security, receipt, tax, or account communications may still be sent when needed.

Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app, operate church giving administration, comply with tax/accounting/legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security.

Giving records and tax-related information may be retained for longer periods as required or appropriate for nonprofit accounting and compliance.

Your Choices

Depending on the feature, you may be able to:

• Update your account or profile information.
• Manage giving preferences, recurring gifts, receipt preferences, and statement delivery preferences.
• Request receipts or giving statements.
• Delete your account from the app.

Account deletion may remove your app profile and profile photo, but some records may be retained where required or appropriate, including giving records, tax statements, financial records, backups, audit logs, or records needed for legal compliance.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please keep your account credentials confidential and notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

U.S. Use

The app is intended primarily for use by Hope of Life International Church and its community in the United States. Information may be processed and stored in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted means you acknowledge the updated policy.
