Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Hope of Life International app (the "App") provided by Hope of Life International Church ("Hope of Life," "we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account, signing in, giving through the App, or otherwise using the App, you agree to these Terms.

Use Of The App

The App is currently provided to support account access and giving to Hope of Life International Church.

You agree to use the App only for lawful, respectful, and church-appropriate purposes. You may not use the App to impersonate another person, submit false information, interfere with app security, attempt unauthorized access, upload harmful code, misuse payment systems, or misuse church information.

Accounts

You may need an account to use the App. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date.

We may suspend or restrict access if we believe an account is being misused, creates safety or security risk, violates these Terms, or conflicts with church operations.

Giving And Payments

The App allows you to make one-time and recurring gifts to Hope of Life International Church. Gifts may be processed through Square, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other supported payment services.

By submitting a gift, you authorize the selected payment method to be charged for the amount, fund, fee coverage amount, and frequency shown before submission.

If you create a recurring gift, you authorize recurring charges according to the schedule you select until you pause, cancel, or update the recurring gift through the App or by contacting the church.

If you save a payment method or use a payment method for recurring giving, payment details are tokenized by Square or the applicable wallet provider. We do not store full credit or debit card numbers in the app database.

We do not guarantee that every attempted gift will be accepted or processed. Gifts may fail because of payment processor rules, bank decisions, fraud checks, technical issues, expired cards, insufficient funds, or other reasons.

Unless otherwise required by law, gifts are generally non-refundable. If you believe a gift was made in error, duplicated, unauthorized, or processed incorrectly, contact us promptly so we can review the issue.

Tax receipts, gift history, and giving statements are provided for convenience and church recordkeeping. You are responsible for consulting your own tax advisor about deductibility, documentation, and tax treatment.

Third-Party Services

The App may use or connect to third-party services, including Firebase/Google Cloud, Google sign-in, Apple sign-in, Square, Apple Pay, Google Pay, email providers, analytics, crash reporting, hosting services, and payment-related services.

We are not responsible for third-party services, content, availability, policies, or payment decisions. Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

No Emergency Or Professional Advice

The App is not an emergency service. Do not use the App to report emergencies, urgent safety threats, medical emergencies, abuse in progress, or situations requiring immediate response. Call 911 or appropriate emergency services.

Content in the App may include faith, stewardship, donation, or church administration material. It is not legal, tax, financial, medical, counseling, or other professional advice.

App Availability And Changes

We may change, suspend, discontinue, or limit any part of the App at any time. We may update features, remove content, change access rules, or perform maintenance without notice. We do not guarantee that the App will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Intellectual Property

The App, design, software, branding, text, graphics, logos, and church-provided content are owned by Hope of Life or its licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the App except as allowed by law or with our written permission.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information. By using the App, you acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access if we believe you violated these Terms, created a security or safety risk, misused church systems, or if access is no longer appropriate for operational reasons.

Some provisions of these Terms will continue after termination, including provisions about giving records, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute terms.

Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and security.

Limitation Of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hope of Life International Church and its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, leaders, agents, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, service interruption, or unauthorized access, arising from or related to your use of the App.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims related to the App will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid directly to us through the App in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, excluding charitable gifts unless required by law.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limits may not apply to you.

Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hope of Life International Church and its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, leaders, agents, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the App, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or infringement of another person's rights.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict of law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes To These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
